Sadaqah Jariyah for Myiesha

My story
Asalamu Alaykum,
Our beloved sister, Myiesha, passed away on 30th May 2025. She was 21 years old and the light of all our lives.
Though her time on this earth was short, her impact was profound. She was smart, courageous, strong, and easily the kindest person in any room.
She was loved by everyone including her parents, sisters, grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins, friends, teachers, doctors and nurses; the outpouring of love and support we have received is a testament to the way she touched every person she encountered.
Myiesha will be remembered for many things, but what stands out most in the countless conversations we’ve had with those who knew her, is her heart. Despite her own struggle with mental health, she always made time for others- to listen, to talk, to advise, to help. She left this world having given a piece of herself to everyone she loved.
Her teachers still read the handwritten letters she had sent throughout the years. Her sisters still call each other by the names she so thoughtfully chose. Her grandmother only drinks from the water bottle Myiesha thoughtfully picked out for her. Her mum wears the Palestine pendant she bought to replace the one she lost. Her cousins will always remember the life lessons she taught and the endless memories they made. Every staff member on her ward and each of her friends wears a personalised bracelet she made for each of them. Her aunt uses the crocheted Qur’an cover Myiesha created for her every day. Her baby cousins sleep under the knitted blankets she handmade. All over Gloucester, people carry watermelon keyrings she made to raise funds for Gaza, each one a symbol of her generosity.
We pray that Myiesha has joined our beloved father and is looking forward to reuniting with all of us again in Jannat. We ask Allah (SWT) to grant patience and strength to all who loved her, and to make her passing a means of bringing hearts closer to Him. May everyone touched by Myiesha's life use this moment as a turning point in their own journey toward faith, purpose and compassion. Ameen.
Myiesha’s life revolved around giving and we want that to be her legacy, so we have decided to fundraise for a community project in her name for a village in Uganda. The funds will go toward building a mosque, water irrigation systems, a madressah and a garden to provide fresh produce for the community. This is a form of Sadaqah Jariyah- an ongoing charity that continues to benefit others and earn lasting rewards, leaving behind a legacy that never fades.
Please donate what you can. We request that you also recite Surah Yaseen for her. We pray that Allah SWT rewards you abundantly and that you are reunited with all of your loved ones in Jannah.
Ameen
With love from Myiesha’s family
